Pastor cautions against judging McNair (AP)

Former Tennessee Titans players, including Brad Hopkins(notes), top left, and Benji Olson(notes), top right, serve as pallbearers as they take the casket of Steve McNair(notes) past a photo of McNair at the end of a memorial service in Nashville, Tenn., Thursday, July 9, 2009. McNair, a former NFL quarterback with the Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans, and Baltimore Ravens, was shot to death in Nashville on July 4.

Steve McNair's pastor and close friend cautioned against judging the ex-NFL quarterback Thursday, reminding people who gathered for his memorial not to cast the first stone when talking about his life off the field. McNair, who was married, was shot to death at his condo early Saturday by his 20-year-old girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, who then turned the gun on herself.

The light beam of Goodell's headlamp was shining into a scary abyss just before Disappointment...

Hennepin County District Judge Gary Larson on Thursday July 9, 2009, granted the players' motion for a temporary restraining order. That keeps the NFL from suspending them until their case is decided.

A judge on Thursday blocked the NFL's plan to suspend Minnesota Vikings linemen Kevin Williams and Pat Williams for violating the league's anti-doping policy, a move their attorney said should let them start the season with camp beginning in just three weeks. Hennepin County District Judge Gary Larson granted the players' request for a temporary restraining order that keeps the NFL...
